Christiana Care is currently recruiting for a Full Time Neurodiagnostic Technician.
The position is day shift but based on department needs may need to rotate to off-shifts. On-Call for weekends and holidays is required.
As a Neurodiagnostic Technician:
Performs technically satisfactory electroencephalograms and evoked potentials of all types.
Participates in long term EEG monitoring program.
Works cooperatively with the Neurosciences Service Line Team.
Calibrates EEG machines. Keeps equipment clean and in operating condition.
Communicates with manager for equipment troubleshooting and repairs as required.
Demonstrates skills and knowledge necessary to provide care appropriate to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including knowledge of growth and development, the ability to obtain and interpret information to identify patient needs, and to provide the care needed.
Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established department safety rules and practices. Reports to manager, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.
Assists manager in training new employees as necessary.
Completion of approved course work in electroencephalographic technology.
Must be ABRET board certified or eligible. Certified within 1 year of hire.
Minimal 1 year of experience in a neurodiagnostic laboratory desirable.
Minimal 1 year of experience in long term monitoring preferred, but not required.
