The Patient Financial Services (PFS) Manager is responsible for management of revenue cycle functions for assigned areas of responsibility. PFS managers are responsible for understanding and applying process and project management for their assigned areas to effect change in a consistent, standardized and effective manner across Marshfield Clinic Health System. This position interacts with revenue cycle staff, operations staff, clinical leadership, information systems, external contacts, patients and customers with regard to revenue cycle processes, policies and procedures.
Responsible for design and maintenance of systems that support hospital claim processing, variances, and denials in order to maintain accounts receivable inventories at acceptable levels. The manager is responsible to coordinate with other revenue cycle managers, technical resources, Payor Strategy and Contracting and payors (government and commercial) to maximize efficiency and ensure accurate reimbursement through claim submissions, rejections, denials and payment variances.

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent with applicable experience as listed below; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management or Healthcare Administration preferred. Completion of CPT, HCPCS and ICD-9 coding courses. Requires five years of work experience in business, healthcare administration or related area. Five years of management experience with less than an Associate degree; or three years of management experience with an Associate degree; or one year of management experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management or Healthcare.
