TheCarl Vinson VeteransMedical Centeris seeking a full timeDiagnostic Radiologist. The Radiologist for this position will be specialized in diagnosing and treating diseases and injuries using medical imaging techniques. The incumbent Radiologist duties to include but not limited to:
Maintaining a high level of efficiency and accuracy in reviewing and interpreting various imaging studies.
Participating in quality control and quality management including department and hospital level peer review activities.
Responsible for reviewing consults including utilization management, ensuring appropriate pre and post procedural work ups, technical oversight for the technologist, overall safety of patients including establishing protocols, oversight of contrast administration and response to adverse patient reactions, timely interpretation and communication of imaging results including report entry into the digital medical record and verbal notifications of critical finding.
Provides consultative service for referring physicians, provide comparative reports as requested, and participate in clinical conferences and committees.

The work requires some physical exertion including periods of walking, standing, regular and recurring bending, and stooping, lifting heavy objects such as assisting patients on and off examination tables.
In order to qualify for this position you must meet the following:
Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
Licensure: Must possess and maintain a current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
Reference: VA Regulations, specifically VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Appendix G-2 Physician Qualification Standard.This can be found in the local Human Resources Office.
