Responsible for all overall strategic leadership, vision and direction setting of Hospice of Siouxland and Siouxland Palliative Care to advance hospice and palliative care services in conjunction with health system. Provides leadership support for organization effectiveness in meeting the mission, vision and values. Responsibilities include: organization planning and budgeting; fiscal responsibility in utilization of resources; fostering an environment and culture for employee satisfaction; maintaining community and physician relations; assuring organization compliance with legal and regulatory requirements; maintaining knowledge of industry trends and environmental factors that may impact hospice and palliative care services. Assures ethical clinical and business practice. Assures compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards for hospice. Through collaboration, partnership, and community education, advances the mission of hospice and palliative care services.
Five years managerial experience strongly preferred. Requires a minimum of three years home health/hospice or related experience. Demonstrated budgeting, financial and analytical experience required. Must demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Hospice of Siouxland began serving patients and families in 1981. Hospice of Siouxland has flourished due to a strong collaboration with area physicians, hospitals, nursing homes, other health care providers, churches and the community.
Hospice of Siouxland reached a milestone in December 1999, at which time, Mercy Medical Center-Sioux City and UnityPoint Health - St. Luke’s finalized a partne...rship between the two health systems. The partnership resulted in joint ownership of Hospice of Siouxland demonstrating a strong commitment to meet community end-of-life needs. This, coupled with the expertise and credibility of Hospice of Siouxland leadership and employees, provides a strong foundation for the program to continue to grow and develop.
In response to identified community needs, Hospice of Siouxland started the Siouxland Palliative Care program in 2001. This program provides services to individuals and caregivers coping with advanced illness regardless of life expectancy or treatment goals.
In 2011, Hospice of Siouxland became accredited by the Community Health Accreditation Program. Hospice of Siouxland serves patients within a 60 mile radius of Sioux City, Iowa, and has offices in Iowa and Nebraska.
