A Radiology Technologist III is a plain film radiographer PLUS works independently in computerized tomography. He/she operates Radiologic equipment; and prepares supplies, equipment and contrast for the patient. Performs general office duties including, but not limited to, scheduling of patients and record keeping. The technologist works under the occasional supervision of the Medical Imaging Supervisor, Lead Technologist and the Medical Imaging Director. The technologist will be scheduled for "on call" duties. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education: ARRT Required; CPR required by completion of the unit-specific orientation and before working independently.
Experience: 1 year experience in radiology/CT preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities: Ability to operate Medical Imaging equipment: manage patients during imaging procedure: follow oral and written instructions: communicate with patients, visitors and employees within the organization. This job may require the employee to be responsible for the assessment, treatment, or care of patients of all ages, including neonate, child, adolescent, and geriatric. Consequently, the employee must be competent in the interpretation of a patient's self-report or behavior, and this information must be interpreted with an understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological maturation process. The treatment of patients should be individualized and should reflect an understanding of the developmental needs and range of treatment needs for each patient. (See "Competency Assessment" policy)
