Providence is calling a Chemical Dependency Counselor Education Outreach Specialist to Providence St. Peter Chemical Dependency Center in Lacey, WA.
We are seeking a Chemical Dependency Education Outreach Specialist to provide tobacco cessation and addiction education related services to the community, as well as patients and families served by Providence St. Peter.
In this position you will:
Conduct proactive outreach and education services to adults, youth, families and the community regarding substance use, tobacco use and problem gambling as well as provide referrals for available services and resources
Implement, maintain and coordinate all activities provided by this position by keeping up to date and accurate records.
Conduct proactive outreach services to youth at a variety of community sites to identify the needs of youth who are abusing alcohol and other drugs
Administrative tasks to support outreach / education services
Facilitate treatment groups and provide case-management on a as needed basis
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Counseling or related field
Washington State Certification as a Chemical Dependency Professional
Two (2) years of experience working with the primary problem of Substance Use Disorder working with dual diagnosis patients
Possession of valid Washington State Motor Vehicle Operator's License
Own reliable vehicle for transportation to and from outreach and education sites that you will use daily
Provide proof of valid automobile insurance
Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Ability to work week nights and weekends on as needed basis
Completed training in tobacco cessation and education (or must be completed within 30 days of hire)
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree in Counseling or related field
One year outreach and/or case management experience
Familiarity of all types of Resources available for individuals and families in Thurston and Mason Counties
