Providence is calling a Network Engineer (Level 3 or Level 4) to Providence Health & Services in Renton, WA.
We are seeking a Network Engineer to be responsible for planning, designing and implementing new technology within the local and wide area infrastructure for all data, voice and telephony services. The incumbent performs all duties in a manner that promotes Providence mission, values, and philosophy. In all aspects, he/she serves as a role model for the values and mission of the organization.
In this position you will:
Evaluate system designs, provide and implement recommendations to improve performance, productivity, functionality and decrease rework and duplication.
Lead in key process improvements for all network environments throughout the organization.
Create and maintain internal training materials, establishe operational procedures and provide training.
Be responsible for the writing, implementation and monitoring of policies, procedures and technologies (including firewalls) to ensure enterprise network security.
Ensure the integrated systems integrity between users of Information Services and third party software vendors or programmers.
Lead in the design and review of new data, voice and/or telephony deployments. Define and implements strategies for integrating data, voice and telephony technologies.
Perform complex troubleshooting and diagnoses, and implements solutions to assure all hardware and network related voice and data services problems are resolved.
Perform complex tasks relating to telecom (circuit) and network (MAN, WAN, LAN) operations, installation, and/or maintenance for local, off-site and/or remote locations.
Provide leadership among team and mentorship of other staff.
Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in hardware infrastructure, cabling, tools, process, and/or inventories, and develop and present recommendations for resolving.
Create and maintain accurate technical and procedural documentation for support of voice and data systems.
Ensure that required maintenance processes are documented and executed on schedule.
Lead key process improvements for all voice and data environments throughout the organization.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems or related discipline is required, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience, OR
Associate's degree with 2 years' experience OR
Minimum 4 years IT experience.
Level 3:Minimum of seven (7) years of data networking experience is required, including a minimum of five (5) years of Cisco or telephony experience in a 24x7 environment.
Level 4/SME:Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive data networking and telecommunications engineering experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Entry-level Avaya, Cisco, and/or Juniper certification required for level 3. Advanced Avaya, Cisco and/or Juniper certifications required for level 4/SME.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Telecommunications related certifications and/or Low Voltage license highly desirable.
ITIL certification desired.
