Physician will provide primarily clinical treatment to patients of the medical center in the Emergency Department. Physician must be qualified to diagnose, treat, stabilize and manage patients according to standard, usual, and acceptable methods and techniques. Physician must have an unrestricted medical license and be BLS and ACLS Certified.
Provides a full range of clinical services including assessment and using the most appropriate techniques in providing quality care in their specialty.
Performs appropriate evaluation and management of patients in an emergency medicine setting.
Orders diagnostic tests and discriminates between normal and abnormal findings and makes appropriate treatment decisions.
Ensures that the practice of medicine is consistent with Joint Commission, CARF, VA policies and procedures, medical record documentation, mandatory continuing education, and HIPPA policies.

Citizenship of the United States. Noncitizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with Department of Veterans Affairs policy.
Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.(Any State, Territory, or Commonwealth or in the District of Columbia is acceptable at any VA, regardless of VA location)
Completion of a first-year residency, or its equivalent, approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which it was completed.
Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Candidate be board certified or eligible in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Practice
Two years Emergency Department experience
