POSITION SUMMARY This position provides technical expertise performing project management, equipment selection consultation, maintenance, installation, repairs, adjustments, and calibrations of imaging equipment throughout all Foundation Health Partner’s facilities and contracted clinics. Performs administrative functions as assigned by the Manager of Biomed. Adheres to instructions and corporate policies, and demonstrates professionalism with integrity in all interactions with customers and staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Performs assigned planned maintenance, installation, repairs, adjustments, calibrations and safety testing on a broad range of imaging equipment. Services imaging equipment which may include any of following modalities: conventional x-ray, R&F, tomography, mammography, ultrasound, CT, MRI, IVR labs, nuclear medicine or linear accelerators. Provides technical training to other staff as appropriate. Services networked equipment and troubleshoots the root cause of problems.
Performs incoming inspections, equipment quality control, testing, calibration and image evaluation of equipment according to manufactures specifications and other established guidelines. Maintains timely, accurate and thorough documentation required by management, as outlined in current policies, procedures, and standards. Provides strong verbal/written communication consistent with assigned tasks.
Supports the development of business plans by assessing equipment needs and developing accurate capital equipment plans and budget estimates for construction and other projects involving equipment. Once projects are approved, this position administers the implementation and integration of the equipment into the facility.
Provides professional communications and appearance while interfacing with senior management, finance, physicians, clinical managers, staff, and customers to assist in managing challenging budget/design issues and assures appropriateness of design, consistency with standards with specific regard to current need, growth, and emerging technologies.
5. Provides consulting services in a professional manner by providing frequent and appropriate communication with customers while striving to meet expectations for delivering projects on time.
6. Provides appropriately detailed equipment planning documentation and training for the department’s technical service team to support the transition of projects so they can be maintained for mutual customers after project completion.
Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers of Foundation Health Partners with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day.

SCOPE AND COMPLEXITY This position will lead and work collaboratively with facility administrators, physicians, clinical managers and staff, project management teams from IT and construction, architects, engineers, contractors, vendor sales and technical staff, materials management leadership and staff, to develop and implement equipment plans for special equipment/systems for projects throughout the organization.

Requires ability to tolerate exposure to conditions which may include toxic chemicals, bio-hazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, heights, high temperatures or confined spaces.
Able to use proper body mechanics to lift supplies and equipment and push carts and dollies weighing up to 500 lbs.
Needs adequate color vision. Must wear protective clothing as required.
May be required to travel to various locations.
Needs ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone.
Must possess a strong knowledge of technology and/or engineering as normally obtained through the completion of a bachelor’s degree in a technology, engineering or related field.
A minimum of six years experience working in a hospital clinical setting dealing with the design, selection, installation and maintenance of complex medical imaging systems and their vendors.
Thorough knowledge of complex medical system design and function, and computer and network system design and function required. Must also possess proven leadership and/or project management experience, including all project phases such as, planning through acceptance, of multi-disciplinary projects involving special systems. Must also demonstrate excellent technical, interpersonal and communication skills. Must attain the Certified Radiology Equipment Specialist (CRES) certification within 18 months of hiring into this position.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Certification as Certified Clinical Engineer (CCE), Certified Biomedical Equipment Tech (CBET), Certified Laboratory Equipment Specialists (CLES) or Certified Radiology Equipment Specialist (CRES) by the International Certification Commission for Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) preferred.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
