Annapolis Life Care, Inc., d.b.a. Ginger Cove, is a CARF-accredited life care retirement community located in Annapolis, Maryland. The organization serves individuals 60 years of age and older offering an independent lifestyle that meets their unique needs, while granting residents the freedom to pursue personal interests. A safe haven for residents since 1988, Ginger Cove is home to 350 residents and 225 dedicated staff members. Tucked on 30 acres along the wooded shores of Gingerville Creek, Ginger Cove embraces wellness and peace of mind as a way of life. Emanating a culture of warmth and inclusivity, the organization is guided by an elected, volunteer Board of Directors. ALC is a 501(c)(3) corporation and has two wholly owned subsidiaries: Ginger Cove Foundation, Inc., a tax-exempt foundation formed in 2002 by ALC to engage in charitable fund-raising activities for the support of ALC, and Ginger Cove Home Health Care LLC, a limited liability company that operates a residential service agency licensed by the State of Maryland.
Accountable to the Board of Directors, the CEO is responsible for implementing the policies and plans established by the Board and for the leadership and total operation of Ginger Cove. The finalist candidate will draw upon an extensive understanding of the rapidly changing continuing care environment to craft a strategic vision for the organization’s continued success in the future, while successfully shepherding current expansion/growth plans already underway. Proficiency in project financing, capital improvement planning, and development of additional sources of revenue is paramount. The CEO will embody and embrace the Ginger Cove values of resident independence, dignity and security, and preserve and build upon its sterling reputation in the area. (S)he will work collaboratively and supportively with a dedicated, high functioning senior leadership team and staff. Embracing open, honest and transparent communication within a highly interactive culture that values listening as well as speaking, the CEO is also an outstanding communicator with residents, prospective residents, and the surrounding community. A Bachelor’s degree in business administration, health care administration, or related field is required (Master’s degree preferred) and a current Maryland nursing home administrator license or eligibility by reciprocity is desirable.
