The position ofInvasive Cardiologistis located in the Medical Service at the VAMC in Wilkes-Barre, PA.
Duties include but are not limited to:
* TheCardiologist will provide coverage for inpatient ICU/PCU/Acutecare consultative service and outpatient consultative clinic.
The Cardiologist will perform cardiac catheterizations
* Provide outpatient consultative service.
* Complete EKG, Holter monitor, stress test and echocardiography interpretations.
* Perform trans-esophageal echocardiography and cardioversions.
* Supervision of mid-levels is required.Teaching resident/fellowis an integral component of the activities
of Cardiologist at the Wilkes-Barre VAMC.
In addition to clinical duties, staffInvasive Cardiologistare expected to be actively engaged in the supervision of students/ residents and physician assistants assigned to their section.
Work Schedule: Work hours are Monday through Friday from 8am to 4:30 pm. Weekend/nights/holiday coverage is shared with other providers.

Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Completion of a first-year residency, or its equivalent, approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
Proficiency in spoken and written English.
