Minneapolis, MN -- University of Minnesota Physicians (UMP) seeks an experienced, collaborative and progressive physician leader to join one of the largest academic, multispecialty group practices in the country as the Vice Dean for Clinical Affairs and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The UMP collaborates with its clinical partner, Fairview Health Services (Fairview) to re-define University of Minnesota Health (M Health), which represents a partnership and functional integration of UMP and University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview (UMMC). By working together, UMP and Fairview, through M Health, can become a destination for world-class clinical care, teaching/training and breakthrough discoveries.
UMP is the multi-specialty group practice for the University of Minnesota Medical School faculty, and it owns and manages more than 50 specialty clinics and five family medicine clinics. UMP employs over 900 physicians and has annual revenue of over $500 million. UMP attracts patients from around the Twin Cities, as well as all over the world, and it is recognized as one of the leading faculty practice plans in the country.
The CEO will develop a vision and strategy to maintain the success of UMP, continue to optimize opportunities for clinical growth and the development of new programs, and will work collaboratively with leaders across UMN, the Medical School, Fairview, M Health and other health care leaders across the state. The CEO will hold a key position in the Medical School, as the Vice Dean for Clinical Affairs. The ideal candidate will be a board certified physician; an advanced degree in health care or business related field is preferred. S/he will have an intimate knowledge of clinical practice, a thorough understanding of the revenue cycle, reimbursement and the business of health care. The successful candidate will be visible, proactive, decisive, an outstanding communicator and able to build relationships across the organization.
