About the Position
The Infection Prevention (IP) Director designs, implements, and directs the CoxHealth infection prevention program including surveillance, analysis, reporting activities, setting standards in accordance with national guidelines, and evaluating compliance of practices associated with prevention and control of health care associated infections. The IP Director provides leadership and consultation to CoxHealth facilities to establish a system wide infection prevention culture.
The IP Director serves as a consultant or active member of appropriate committees, including but not limited to, Infection Control, Product Evaluation, Environment of Care, and Patient Safety Committees.
He/she functions as a resource/liaison/consultant to all customers, physicians, employees, in all CoxHealth locations in addition to the community, outside physicians, and agencies, on matters of infection control and prevention.
The IP Director is a qualified individual with knowledge of CDC guidelines and definitions of hospital associated infections, DNV/ISO 9001 standards, federal and state regulations, and occupational health. Certification in Infection Control is strongly desired, if not present must be obtained within first year of employment.

Qualifications for this position require a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Epidemiology, or Public health, 3-5 years' experience in Infection Prevention, and a State of Missouri RN license.
