The American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ACMG) is an organization composed of biochemical, clinical, cytogenetic, medical and molecular geneticists, genetic counselors and other health care professionals committed to the practice of medical genetics. The ACMG was incorporated in 1991 to give national representation to providers of genetic services and their patients with genetic disorders and to speak for the emerging specialty of medical genetics in organizations and agencies concerned with medical service, certification, and regulatory issues. The ACMG provides education, resources, and a voice for the medical genetics profession and its mission is to improve health through genetics. The educational and public health programs of the ACMG are dependent upon charitable gifts from corporations, foundations, and individuals through the ACMG Foundation for Genetic and Genomic Medicine.
The successful candidate will further the mission of the College and Foundation by performing administrative tasks to meet the needs of board members, committees, and sponsors. Responsibilities of this position will include: coordinating travel, scheduling meetings, developing meeting summaries, managing Web-ex events and maintaining a document tracking system. In all activities, organization, accuracy, thoroughness, discretion, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines will be of the utmost importance.
Manage meetings and conference calls of ACMG volunteer committees and workgroups
Prepare and distribute meeting materials, record and transcribe minutes.
Maintain tracking system for proposals, manuscripts, and policy statements developed by the ACMG board and/or committees.
Works with internal team to ensure approved manuscripts meet formatting requirements for publication.
Prepare and edit correspondence, communications, presentations and other documents as requested.
Serve as a member of the administrative team that is responsible for answering and directing phone calls as well as distributing mail to staff.
Monitor organizational email account and ensure that correspondence is distributed to appropriate staff in a timely manner.
Update website and work with external vendor for larger revisions.
Coordinate and manage the electronic mailings via digital marketing platform.
Assist with the management of training award applications as well as the development and distribution of notification letters.
Assist with managing RSVPs for annual events.
Technical Capacity: high proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint; working knowledge iMIS or association management software a plus
Technology Capacity: working knowledge of digital marketing and video conferencing platforms
Ability to work efficiently and independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in oral and written communication
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
3-5 years of relevant work experience
Demonstrates consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail
Ability to maintain composure and a positive attitude while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
