What You Will Do:
Responsible for the planning and management of the decontamination and sterilization process functions to include: Development of policies and procedures in accordance to guidelines from AAMI, The Joint Commission (TJC), and OSHA. Develops performance standards, supervision of employees in decontamination, assembly and sterilization of instruments. Reviews sterilization records and develops appropriate reports for the following departments: Sterile Processing, OR and Labor/Delivery. Works closely with Infection Control and Risk Management departments.
What You Will Bring:
Education Bachelors Preferred Masters Preferred
Experience 5 Years In Operating Room and Central Sterile Processing environment required, with 2 Years In a management role strongly preferred.
Certification & Licensures Virginia State Nursing License Preferred. Certification in an accredited sterile processing program required, or obtained within 12 months of hire date.
Qualifications Must have in-depth knowledge of sterilization and decontamination processes. Must have in-depth knowledge of AAMI, JCAHO, AORN and OSHA guidelines. Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills are essential. Working knowledge of spreadsheet software applications in Excel, Access, and Word is essential. Basic understanding of financial data, reports, and budget processes is essential.
