The Marin County Human Resources Department and the Marin County Department of Health and Human Services are announcing a recruitment for the position of Senior Child Welfare Worker. There is currently one full-time vacancy in Children’s and Family Services.
This Lead Child Welfare Worker position will include responsibilities associated with the recently mandated Federal Case review process, including the extensive review of randomly selected child welfare or probation cases and the completion of stakeholder interviews as part of the case review process. All case reviewers must successfully complete the federal certification process before they are eligible to complete case reviews. Other duties include helping with the development and drafting of protocols. Proficient use of CWS/CMS is essential and the ability to learn new databases associated with the Federal Case Review process is required. Note that the nature of this assignment prohibits the lead worker from carrying child welfare cases or supervising staff who do (nondependent minor cases are excluded). There is currently one full-time vacancy in Children and Family Services.
Our highly qualified candidate will have experience working with children and families in Child Welfare. As the responsibilities of this position will include conducting stakeholder interviews, the ideal candidate must be familiar with trauma informed interviewing skills and be willing to work flexible hours. In addition, excellent writing and research skills are required, as the lead worker will help with creating, drafting and establishing agency protocols. The candidate will be familiar with CWS/CMS and comfortable learning new databases and operating with a high degree of organization where deadlines are independently managed, such that work is completed in a timely manner. Bilingual skills (Spanish/English) are highly desirable, but not required.
