This position, with a large integrated delivery system on the west coast, reports directly to the Chief Pharmacy Officer. The VP will be responsible for strategy, leadership, decision-making and oversight for all clinical pharmacy services, including drug use management, as well as inpatient pharmacy services.
Primary areas of focus include strategic planning, particularly the coordination of evaluation, development, and implementation of clinical and inpatient pharmacy programs. Priorities also include identification and standardization of productivity and performance measures for specific clinician and inpatient care models; determination of resources to support implementation and support growth initiatives; space planning and facility design; workflow standardization and consistency; technology usage and management of reporting systems; oversight of quality, risk management, compliance and member service programs and initiatives; and the leveraging of these functions to provide excellent member services and prudent use of resources.
Candidates must have a pharmacy degree and licensure as a registered pharmacist in California, or the ability to attain that credential within one year of hire; a Pharm.D. is preferred, though candidates with a master’s degree will be considered. Pharmacotherapy board certification preferred. Also required are 10+ years of senior-level leadership experience, and a documented record of success, with an organized healthcare system or managed care organization, with significant background in hospital, ambulatory care, inpatient operational and clinical services. Must have demonstrated leadership, communication and strategic planning skills.
