Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word seek a full time Congregation Social Concerns Director.
This high profile position oversees the Congregation's commitment to social justice. Essential duties include facilitating the work of the Congregation's social justice focus and taking leadership in advancing the Congregation's justice work through social media, planning of workshops and working with the Treasurer and the Director of Investments to implement the Congregation's Socially Responsible Investment Program. The position represents the Congregation at local, national and international justice related organizations.
Major focus issues of the Congregation include Social and Economic Justice; Ecological Integrity, Empowerment of Women; Human Trafficking and Immigration.
An understanding and commitment to Catholic Social Teaching is essential. The candidate must possess outstanding oral and written communication skills, be fluent in English and have a working knowledge of Spanish. A bachelor's degree is required. Master's degree preferred. Experience in another culture preferred. Willingness to travel internationally preferred. A minimum five years' experience leading or directing the development of social justice initiatives or programs required.

B. Skills: The candidate must have stron writing and public speaking skills, be fluent in English and have a working knowledge of Spanish and possess a capacity for collaboration and be willing to travel internationally.
C. Experience: A minimum of three to five years' experience in leading or directing the development of social justice initiatives or programs, including advocacy and public policy administration with a working knowledge of Catholic Social Teaching and system change.
