Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare has retained Witt/Kieffer to assist in their search for a dynamic and mission oriented leader to serve as its next Vice President, Finance and Revenue/Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Founded 120 years ago by the Minnesota state legislature, Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare’s time-tested mission focuses on helping individuals with childhood-onset medical conditions, realize their full potential. Gillette is an independent, freestanding hospital with a main campus in St. Paul, Minnesota and numerous outreach clinics and collaborations throughout the upper Midwest. Gillette treats patients who have some of the most complex, rare and traumatic conditions in pediatric medicine. Patients and families from every state and across the globe who have complicated conditions affecting the musculoskeletal and neurological systems seek out the recognized care of Gillette. The mission and vision of Gillette revolves around the patients it serves and their families.
The next CFO will provide leadership and financial oversight for all of Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare’s business operations. The CFO is a key strategic and financial advisor to the Chief Executive Officer, Barbara Joers. They will also provide financial oversight and support to the Gillette Children’s Foundation. Gillette Children’s is a very team-based organization. As such, the CFO will need to develop strong partnerships with the entire executive team and work closely with the VP, Institutional Advancement and VP, Performance and Information Management to optimize analytics and revenue integrity. She/he will work to strengthen the organization’s financial position and develop new strategies to improve financial processes and operations, reduce costs without impacting clinical outcomes and other key metrics, and grow revenues.
The successful candidate will be an executive that can balance strategic finance and financial operations. She/he will work with executive leadership to develop and execute a long term strategy, while ensuring efficient and effective financial operations. This executive will appreciate the value of mentoring/coaching a strong team of financial leaders, and have a track record of being able to work across the clinical enterprise to coordinate revenue integrity and growth initiatives. She/he will need to be comfortable with taking decisive action based upon finite information. Through sound financial planning and management, the goal is to ensure Gillette Children’s can manage its resources to continue to fulfill its mission and maintain its core values.
The position is best suited for a transformational leader with a passion for children who have unique health needs and individuals who have different abilities. She/he will have exceptional strategic skills, along with the strong relationships skills, confidence, tact and intellect that will be necessary to lead effectively in a complex environment.
