At OSF Saint Elizabeth, we offer a comprehensive behavioral health program geared toward the adult and senior population. Our secure, 22-bed psychiatric unit is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is located on the third floor of OSF Saint Elizabeth Medical Center.
Your Roll in Quality Care
The RN Manager is responsible for providing collaborative departmental leadership in the planning, scheduling, implementation, and evaluating the 24 hour operation of the inpatient unit. Ensures the provision of high quality nursing services and business processes in accordance with Medical Center and regulatory requirements. Responsible for the collaborative development and implementation and administration of improved patient care services in order to achieve the department vision and fiscal year business plans. Proactively manages financial, capital and human resources to ensure services meet established quality and productivity standards, and implements corrective action as necessary. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served and provides nursing support as required. Duties may vary by assignment, but the following are general characteristics of the job.
Completion of a bachelor's degree from an approved School of Nursing. Completion of BSN within 2 years of employment in position.
Current state license as a Registered Nurse.
Required certifications: ACLS, PALS (within 1 year of employment in position).
Recommend achieving national certification; preferably in Nurse Management/Leadership within 2 years of employment in manager position.
Approximately 3 to 5 years progressively more responsible experience with at least 1 year experience in appropriate specialty area.
Interpersonal skills necessary in order to provide effective leadership to assigned personnel, maintain positive relationships among staff, physicians and Medical Center personnel, interact with patients and visitors.
Analytical skills necessary to organize and direct the work of others, develop, implement and administer policies, procedures, budgets and nursing practices.
