2 South is a 23 bed Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit that provides nursing services to patients with a variety of medical diagnoses . The unit also provides surgical post operative nursing services to orthopedic, urology, bariatric and general surgery patients. The orthopedic services include total joint replacements which may consist of knees, hips and shoulders. Bariatric services are patients who undergo the weight loss procedures of either a gastric sleeve or a gastric bypass surgery. Other general surgeries include Nissen fundoplication, colon resections and a host of other surgeries that our general surgeons perform. Some of the general surgeries utilize our robotics service line. Urological surgeries consist of robotic prostatectomies, both robotic and general nephrectomies and various other types of urological procedures. On limited occasions the unit provides post operative services to the pediatric population.
Minimum of at least 2 years of direct care experience as an RN charge nurse
Holds a current license to practice in State of Louisiana
Telemetry experience preferred
Licensed by State of Louisiana as a Registered Nurse
CPR, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and other Certifications as required by specialty
