The psychiatric outpatient nurse practitioner (NP) works in collaboration with a multidisciplinary health care team in the Vanderbilt Adult Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic.
The psychiatric outpatient NP functions in collaboration with psychiatrists in the Adult outpatient clinic, as well as the neuromodulation (ECT/ TMS) program. The psychiatric outpatient NP has a strong foundation in evidence-based practice and education, has a responsibility for ensuring adherence to diagnostic and therapeutic algorithms and protocols, and ensures an environment of high quality care. The NP demonstrates an advanced level of medical and nursing knowledge, clinical competence, sound clinical judgment, professional communication skills, timely and compliant documentation, and is responsible for professional development and competency validation.
Basic Qualifications: This position requires a Master's degree in Nursing, board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, and twelve months of relevant experience. Prior familiarity with refractor mood disorders, ECT and/or TMS is preferred.
License Required: Current Tennessee RN license and TN APN certificate with certificate of fitness to prescribe.
Must be eligible for DEA license.
Additional Information: This is a full-time position; primary duties are Monday through Friday 8AM-5PM, with the possibility of on-call duty in rotation with other staff.
