Coordinate and participate in the operation ultrasound services for several University of Missouri Health Care OB/GYN clinics, general and high risk obstetrics, and reproductive medicine.
Coordinate and monitor the daily operations of Ultrasound Services at UMHC OB/GYN facilities.
Assist with supervision of sonographers to insure exemplary patient care. Schedules staff in various clinic locations. Coordinate and implement orientation, training, cross-training, competency, and continuous education programs for OB/GYN Ultrasound Service staff.
Lead quality assurance/continuous quality improvement procedures for ultrasound services. Responsible for maintaining the clinics AIUM accreditation, submits images and reports in a timely manner and maintaining maintenance records as required for AIUM accreditation.
Coordinate efforts with IT personnel to maximize the efficiency of the ultrasound reporting software. Maintain table files in the software and run reports as required. Be the super-user which includes testing interfaces with PowerChart and ultrasound equipment. Participate in collecting data for research as required.
Assist in the development of policies and procedures and communicate changes to staff.
Collaborate with other departments, clinics, or referring physician offices to provide continuity of care for patients. Participate in committees or special projects as requested or assigned by management.
Facilitate communication between staff, physicians and other departments.
Provide direct patient care and Ultrasound services.
Assist in coordinating clinical rotations and educational programs in Ultrasound Services for University of Missouri Radiology students as needed.
Assist in formulating departmental equipment requests, purchase orders, vendor calls, or preventative maintenance and repairs.
An Associate's degree in Biological Sciences or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is required.
Three years experience in ultrasonography is required, with obstetrical ultrasound experience preferred.
Two years of experience in a teaching hospital or educational health care institution is preferred
Possession of ARDMS certification and RVT certification or certification eligible within one year of hire is necessary.
