We are looking for a dedicated Director of Life Safety and Security, and it could be YOU!
So what would your job entail?
SUMMARY: Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Security, PBX, and Life Safety Department. Ensure the safety and welfare of residents through safety/fire inspections.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Development of operational and safety policies and procedures for security and life safety.
Prepares various reports to management concerning security and life safety issues.
Serves as additional security when the need arises.
Develops the Security and PBX departmental budgets.
Conducts follow-up on various investigative activities.
Oversees monthly and annual inspection and documentation of all fire extinguishers.
Maintains smoke detectors and testing per regulations.
Coordinates with the engineering department the quarterly inspection of all fire suppression systems.
Conducts fire drills of various areas monthly to meet Ohio Department of Health regulations.
Inspects all buildings monthly and all resident rooms quarterly for fire and safety hazards.
Conducts annual employee fire safety in-service.
Creates and maintains the employee schedules of the Security and the PBX departments.
Inspects all fire alarms and investigates and resolves any issues identified upon inspection.
Ensures Campus compliance with OSHA and NAFPA Fire and Safety standards.
Responsible for providing the Hazardous Communications and Fire Safety in-service training in orientation for new employees.
Logs all applicable hazardous waste spills.
Participates in the development, implementation and monitoring of safety management.
Responsible for the completion and maintenance of all Life Safety reports needed per regulations and facility needs.
Serves as the leader of the Safety Committee and will implement the recommendations of the outside consultants.
Other duties as assigned,
Supervises Security and PBX staff, and the Life Safety process, at the Springfield Campus. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Is responsible for the continued education of new regulatory compliance and best practices for the department and campus.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
HS diploma or further secondary education with three years of related experience and/or training in Life Safety, preferably in a licensed facility.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS :
Maintains a CPR and basic first aid certification.
Must have valid Ohio Drivers License and is insurable under company insurance policy.
OSHA Certification preferred
