The Point of Care Technologist, POCT Coordinator has technical and administrative responsibility for the Point of Care Testing Program to include evaluation and implementation of POC testing, providing education opportunities and skills training, as well as consultation and technical support to nursing. The POCT Coordinator must also maintain written policies and procedures, conduct on-site inspections and resolve any technical and administrative problems in consideration of regulatory and accrediting guidelines. The POCT Coordinator maintains region wide support for the testing program.
Must have a baccalaureate degree in Medical Technologoy or Science, Post graduate degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or in Management, preferable.
Five years experience as a generalist technologist, with one to two years as a lead tech or supervisory experience preferred. Demonstrate leadership ability and communication skills.
C. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
Must have proof of registration by ASCP or AMT as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist or meet requirements to sit for certification exam within six months of hire.
