Emerald Coast Behavioral Hospital is an 86 bed inpatient psychiatric hospital in Panama City, Florida which provides treatment options to children, adolescents, adults, active duty service members and their families, and Veterans. We have four Outpatient Centers located in the Panhandle providing IOP, Half Day PHP, and PHP programs. Our Okaloosa Outpatient Center located in Fort Walton Beach, FL offers programs for civilians, Active Duty service members, and Veterans experiencing mental health and/or chemical dependency problems who do not need the structure or security of an inpatient setting, but require a level of care beyond that of traditional outpatient services.
The Mental Health Technician (MHT) functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients ranging in age from adolescent through geriatrics. The MHT ensures patients are checked in for group, and is able to intervene effectively in crisis situations. MHT's work under the direct supervision of the therapist on duty.
Essential Job Duties:
Act as liaison between family, department, referral sources, agencies, schools and other interested parties.
Actively supervise patients in daily activities. Recognize escalation and take preventive steps to reduce incidence or further escalation of patient.
Assist manager in ensuring each patient receives all required treatment services to include individual therapy and medication management sessions weekly as required by insurances.
Answer phone and schedule patient assessments. Answer questions regarding clinic services to include knowledge of group leadership, counseling skills, psychopathology, cognitive-behavioral model, case management, crisis and behavioral management, and Military protocols and standards.
Responsible for billing, patient census maintenance, upfront payment collections, and calendars as assigned.
