The Therapist counsels residents/students regarding psychological or emotional problems and develops and implements therapeutic treatment plan by developing, implementing, and administering the therapeutic treatment plan by performing clinical interviews for medical, social, and psychological history and compiles all pertinent documents to facilitate treatment plan. Establishes agenda and conducts treatment team sessions with completion of all reviews. Observes client for abnormal physical or mental behavior and monitors progress with components of treatment plan. Conducts individual sessions according to treatment plans. Conducts Group sessions according to established standards and program requirements. Provides therapeutic support and creative interventions to clients to encourage continued growth and movement while in the program. Demonstrates knowledge of basic counseling approaches (Cognitive Behavioral, Reality Therapy, Support Therapy, EMDR, Gestalt Therapy, Solution Focused, etc.) Develops a good working knowledge of various medications utilized with clients and the expected benefits and side effects.
