The Kindred Clinical Systems Development Team is looking for the right Software Engineer to join the tight-knit, award-winning team of developers in a multi-application, multi-language environment where creativity and dedication are rewarded. This position is located in Louisville, KY .
Our team supports the hospital division (65+ hospitals), developing and enhancing several applications running in multiple environments. We have a fast paced, fun environment and are looking for team members who can join the team, contributing their knowledge gained through past experiences and ready to learn new and exciting things with us. We believe in providing creative technical solutions for our users as a means of supporting their ability to take care of our patients.
Ideal Candidate will:
Be an analytical thinker, excited about tackling new problems and learning new technologies.
Be comfortable using a wide range of languages and technology.
Have ability to be productive in writing and documenting sophisticated applications using many different object-oriented languages (e.g. C#, C++, Java, etc.) in an enterprise-scale environment.
Have extensive experience developing within multiple environments (client/server applications, web solutions, procedural environments) on multiple Operating Systems, and be comfortable learning different technologies and languages as needed.
Have experience with application design techniques, user interface design, and development of design documents.
Have experience supporting critical production applications
Have a willingness and understanding of how to properly document your code and applications.
Have working knowledge of database environments, access languages and products such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, Sybase, DB2, SQL, PL/SQL, ODBC, and JDBC.
Be able to demonstrate skills in performing the analysis, design, and implementation of automated enterprise-scale distributed business systems and infrastructures, including a desire to have direct responsibility for analysis, coding, development, testing and application design enhancements.
Have a proven history of providing solutions as a self-driven individual developer and as a member of a much larger team.
Have a history of development following a regimented SDLC.

Bachelors Degree in CS, Engineering, Math, etc. or equiv work experience in the technical arena.
5+ years in a full-time software developer role, with a progressive increase in responsibility and title.
Solid, powerful, and confident written and verbal communication skills – the ability to communicate complex thoughts and ideas in a clear and concise manner.
Experience with modern source control systems (git, Subversion, etc)
Skills working directly with end users.
Multiple years successfully leading other developers.
Experience in accurately estimating timelines and work efforts, and a history of hitting your estimates.
History of documenting your designs and development for current/future reviews.
Experience enhancing and supporting large-scale, mission-critical applications.
Ability to multi-task, working on multiple projects and/or provide ongoing enhancements and support to existing applications.
Depending on candidate's qualifications, this position may be filled at a different level.
