The Executive Director is responsible for the overall direction and administration of the programs and services provided by the facility.
Essential Job Specific Duties/Responsibilities
Develops, implements, and monitors policies and objectives of the facility according to the philosophy and mission of CHI Living Communities.
Fosters a sense of community and life enrichment among residents, family, and staff of the facility.
Proactively promotes the facility as the "provider of choice" in the community (i.e. community groups, organizations, activities, etc.).
Ensures that the appropriate levels of care are provided to the residents in keeping with the mission of the facility.
Functions as liaison to the Advisory Board
Provides information regarding the services that the facility provides.
Schedules regular meetings in conjunction with the CEO of CHI Living Communities and the Advisory Board.
Directs/provides follow-up action for Advisory Board directed issues.
Directs a process of organizational development that evaluates structure and addresses strategic planning throughout the facility.
Develops and monitors the annual and capital budgets for the facility.
Consults with department directors and other segments of management responsible for policy or action.
Makes recommendations for improving effectiveness of policy or practices to the CEO of CHI Living Communities.
Ensures optimum performance of the programs, activities, and organizations residing at the facility.
Enhances the continued visibility of the facility by advocating a continuous Quality Improvement process.
Develops short and long range strategic plans and objectives.
Maintains a working knowledge of senior housing and health care principles and practices consistent with residential programs, implementing programs, and building conversion.
Maintains licensure as Nursing Home Administrator in the state of employment.
Identifies current government statues and regulations affecting the facility and oversees compliance.
Acts as Campus Risk Management Office, the primary contact with counsel and outside government agencies.
Keeps abreast of current trends and practices in the field of long-term care.
Maintains compliance with all government statutes and regulations.
Actively contributes to the efficiency and morale of the campus. Directs and provides recommendations for resident and staff safety and models best practices.
Satisfies all educational in-service requirements mandated by CHI Living Communities, the department, external accrediting, and regulatory agencies.
Attends all mandatory in-service programs.
Adheres to facility policies and procedures.
Completes yearly online education program by deadline.
Attends employee meetings on a regular basis.
In addition to the essential job specific duties listed above, the Executive Director shall be required to perform all duties (essential and non-essential) in a manner consistent with the mission statement and core values (reverence, integrity, compassion, excellence) of CHI Living Communities and will be evaluated on such basis. Furthermore, every employee must abide by all campus, departmental, and safety policies, rules, and regulations.
Education: AL Administrator License required; and Nursing Home Administrator License in the state of employment preferred. Master’s Degree in Administration or related field.
Experience: Minimum five years of experience.
