Safely moves patients from the patient's room to and from Department providing treatment. The transporter assures that supplies and equipment necessary for the transport of patients is readily available and in working order.
Greets, guides, and transports inpatients within the hospital as needed.
Assesses the patients' transportation needs from one area to another.
Prioritizes patient's transportation during normal heavy transportation hours.
Reports any observations, regarding the patient's condition during transport.
Notifies the department/nursing unit upon patient's arrival or leaving.
Runs errands as needed for the Hospital.
Delivers documents to appropriate areas upon request.
Stock supplies as requested by the Departments.
Disinfects/cleans equipment between patients uses.
Helps to coordinate patients to and from procedures.
Brings areas of deficiency to management's attention with suggestions for improvement.
Participates in team projects as assigned.
Uses and maintains equipment according to operations manual and hospital/department policy.
Coordinates with Outpatient Scheduler the transporting of patients to and from the hospital for procedures.
Maintains the hospital van ensuring the vehicle is clean at all times.
Performs other related duties as requested.
High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Valid Drivers License with excellent driving record may be required depending on needs of the position.
Current BLS required.
