Lincoln Prairie Behavioral Health Center is a Joint Commission approved and state licensed facility for 88 beds, which includes pediatric units, adolescent girls, adolescent boys, and MISA (Mental Illness Substance Abuse) unit. We are committed to providing youth with compassionate treatment that encourages self-responsibility and personal growth. Lincoln Prairie provides treatment to children and adolescents (ages 3-17) that present with a broad range of psychiatric and behavioral disorders. Lincoln Prairie offers an array of outpatient programs. We provide educational programs, enhanced Occupational Therapy services, Recreational Therapy, Art and Music Therapy, while utilizing a holistic treatment approach.
We are seeking a Director of Assessment and Referral. The Director of Assessment & Referral is responsible for the oversight and performance of intake calls, patient assessments and patient triage to the most appropriate, least restrictive level of care through collaborative efforts with attending physicians, case managers and clinical treatment team members. This position assumes responsibility for the admission process including third party pre-certification and coordination with referral sources, and is responsible for providing new employee orientation related to patient rights for admission, admission processes, initial assessments and community resources. Additionally, this position assures compliance with all COBRA related assessments and triage and functions according to organizational policy, mission and the philosophy of the utilization management plan.
The primary responsibilities of this position include:
Responsible for overall functioning of access process and departmental functioning.
Responsible for overall process of call handling and day-to-day supervision of Assessment and Referral Therapists.
Responsible for assuring collaboration with the treatment team related to appropriate levels of care.
Responsible for staff training to assure Access & Referral Team members conduct assessments in a manner appropriate to patients' cognitive ability.
Responsible for oversight and performance of third party pre-certification processes.
Responsible for completion of data required to finalize the admission process.
Responsible for development and implementation of access policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory and state agencies.
Responsible for overseeing and assuring that Referral Source needs are met as related to Assessment & Referral functions.
Responsible for development and maintenance of records reflecting assessment related activities, patient care provided and activity generated by referral sources for monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.
Responsible for assuring compliance with COBRA related standards.
Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the State of Illinois Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Act/Joint Commission requirements and other regulatory standards pertinent to Access & Referral.
Serves on hospital committees as assigned by the CEO.
Provide ongoing staff development in-services to maintain concurrent knowledge of changes in access policies and procedures.
Demonstrates clinical competence in crisis intervention theory and assessment of psychiatric issues.
Maintains staffing and scheduling plans for assigned department per budgetary, regulatory and internal acuity standards.
Recruits and selects qualified applicants for approved job positions.
