This position will maintain accurate records of specimens, slides and blocks; Assist in the day-to-day operation of the gross room, cytology specimen preparation, frozen section preparation and specimen collection procedures. Other duties may be assigned by management.
Assures proper specimen identification.
Designates specimen as routine or as needing Pathologist's immediate attention.
Accurate computer data entry.
Assist in maintaining histology and gross room supply inventories.
Prepares specimens to be sent to referral labs.
Frozen specimen cutting.
Assists with renal biopsy, bone marrow, FNA, and medical photography.
