Arbour Hospital, a 118 bed (106 Adult/12 Adolescent) private psychiatric facility located in Boston's Jamaica Plain neighborhood; the hospital also manages an 18 bed satellite adult psychiatric unit in Quincy. Arbour Hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission and licensed by the MA Department of Mental Health. Position Summary: Arbour Hospital currently has Group Therapist positions available. The Group Therapist is responsible for delivering patient care through the therapeutic environment, providing core scheduling for the groups program. The Group Therapist will provide individual, specific, goal-oriented treatment to patients on an inpatient unit and will collaborate with unit staff and the treatment team to promote active treatment on the unit. Positions available are:
Full time, 32-40 hours per week, evening shift, every other weekend requirement
Per-Diem, every weekend requirement Main responsibilities: 1. Conducts 4 groups per day on an inpatient unit. 2. Documents group session including client progress or lack thereof, problems, concerns and mental status. 3. Develops and maintains positive working relationships with staff, interns, volunteers, management, and other professional collaterals. 4. Ensures that all documentation related to the provision of direct client services is completed in a timely manner and in accordance with established policies and procedures and state standards. 5. Ensures group program participation check-in with individual patients on the unit. 6. Participates in regular group supervision with Director of Clinical Services. 7. Maintains clinical standards for area of responsibility in compliance with outside survey groups. 8. Participates in special projects as assigned by the Director of Clinical Services. 9. Adheres to facility, department, corporate and standard policies and procedures. 10. Attends all mandatory facility in-services and staff development activities as scheduled. 11. Adheres to facility standards concerning conduct, dress, attendance and punctuality. 12. Supports facility-wide quality/performance improvement goals and objectives.
