Saint Simons By-The-Sea Hospital is a 101 bed psychiatric and addictive disease hospital for adults and adolescents. We strive to provide quality mental health treatment and addiction treatment services in the area. Located on Saint Simons Island, Ga., Saint Simons By-The-Sea's serene island setting ensures privacy and anonymity, enabling the patient to concentrate on recovery. Our hospital is conveniently located within driving distance of Jacksonville, FL, Savannah, GA, and other surrounding cities in the South Georgia and Northern Florida region. Saint Simons By-The-Sea's staff has extensive experience in the fields of addiction treatment, recovery, relapse prevention and mental health treatment.
Saint Simons By-The-Sea Hospital is seeking LPNs, whoÂ render professional nursing care to patients within the treatment programs,Â administer medications appropriately and documents all data accurately according to facility policy,Â and functions as a MHT, when needed.Â Â Â
Other responsibilities, but not limited to, are:
Administer proper medication to each patient in a timely manner following the guidelines governing the administration of medication by the state Board of Nursing.Recognize and reports any abnormal dosages to the Nursing Supervisor.
Observe, assess, and report the patientâ€™s signs, symptoms, and behaviors and any subsequent treatment and/or interventions and records same in the medical record according to facility policy.
Participate in the implementation of the plan of care by: Providing direct care for patients whose conditions are stabilized or predictable, assisting in caring for patients whose conditions are critical and/or fluctuating, providing an environment conducive to safety and health, and documenting nursing interventions, special treatment procedures, response to care, progressive interventions and de-escalation of patients according to facility policy, and communicating nursing interventions and response to care to appropriate members of the health care team.
Provide individual instruction to patients and their families concerning medications, health, and medical needs.
Contribute to the evaluation of the responses of individuals or groups to nursing interventions administered by self and others by documenting and communicating appropriate data and by contributing to the modification of the strategy of care on the basis of evaluation.
