Henderson Hospital Henderson Hospital is a member of The Valley Health System, a network of six acute care hospitals that provide care for patients throughout Southern Nevada and nearby communities. Located in the suburb of Henderson, the 120-bed hospital, which opened in 2016, offers emergency care, surgical services, including an ambulatory surgery center, cardiovascular care, women's health and maternity services. A level II neonatal intensive care unit is slated to open by late 2017.
Responsible for preparation of patient trays and accurate setup and delivery of patient meals to ensure quality service to patient for optimum health.
Essential Job Duties:
Performs responsibilities consistent with hospital safety policies. Sets up tray line for breakfast and lunch. Works assigned stations for breakfast and lunch, or lunch and dinner. Sets up and delivers late trays to nursing floor. Prepare iced teas for lunch and dinner tray line. Turn on hot pack machine first thing in a.m. Assist with lining trays, sorting silverware, and dry domes. Stock disposable products and keep organized for isolations and backup. Restock counter fridge with pop, canned supplements, etc., Stock coffee station with crackers, tea bags, Sanka, Styrofoam items, lids etc. for tray line. Pour half cups of milk and mocha mix. Set up caller station for breakfast and lunch. Sort silverware, dry and line trays and domes. Keep working area neat and clean. Remove all products from p.m. tray line. Responsible for wiping and sanitizing food carts. Transports box lunches from bakery to tray line. Responsible for cleaning tray line with sanitizer every night. Additional duties may be assigned. Duties may be added or changed at manager's discretion.
Department Specific Requirements
Knowledge and understanding of cleaning procedures. Ability to work and cooperate with members of the hospital staff. Must be able to exert self-control in hostile situations when verbally or physically confronted in a threatening or aggressive manner. Ability to concentrate on work tasks amidst distractions. Ability to read, write and communicate in the English language. Understands and practices infection control and isolation procedures.
Classification Specific Requirements
Employees in positions involving patient charting and related functions, must possess competency in use of technology and computers. Makes suggestions/recommendations for improved operations to the department, facility. Effectively communicates both orally and in writing.
