We are seeking a successful and driven Executive to lead our business development activities, including all sales planning and execution, client relationship management, and marketing. You must be a dynamic and strategic leader and be able to successfully develop and execute Business Development and Marketing Plans. The business development responsibilities incorporate all sales and marketing activities needed to drive the Company to the leading market position in the industry. You will be responsible for the generation of new and profitable revenue as well as optimizing revenue from our existing client base. You should excel in developing business development strategies; preparing, communicating and executing tactical plans that support the strategy, and managing day-to-day business development activities. You will also lead the company’s marketing activities, which include directing and overseeing our marketing initiatives. You will design, implement and monitor effective marketing strategies that align with our business goals. You should have a reputation for value creation, assessing and capitalizing on innovation and have a track record of successful top/bottom line growth. You should also be seen by the clinical research community as a well-respected leader. This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer and leads a team of 10 business development professionals. Responsibilities
•You will develop, execute and monitor progress of business development plans, including market analysis, marketing programs, growth projections, market share goals, customer needs assessment and competitive activity, with periodic progress and execution reports and updates. •Your primary measurement of success will be the creation of new client relationships, which drive incremental activity across our network of sites. •Your secondary measurement of success will be to drive incremental revenue from existing relationships into our network of sites. •You will own the revenue cycle, including revenue backlog and sales pipeline. You and your team will utilize the Company’s clinical trials management system to ensure the sales pipeline and backlog are accurately and timely maintained. •You will lead the expansion of services offered across our network of sites by matching opportunities with site level capabilities. •You will ensure our sales pipeline is growing, diverse, robust and meets both corporate and individual Business Development goals and targets. •You will cultivate effective business relationships with customers and other partners. •You will provide overall leadership to the business development staff, including recruiting, hiring, growing, and holding each team member accountable to a high standard of productivity. •You will continually grow the business development team through motivation, counseling, skills development and product knowledge development.
•You will establish strong business development processes and practices that support consistently meeting and exceeding goals. •You and your team will execute the entire sales cycle from prospecting to closure to up-sell/cross-sell including prospecting, discovery, evaluation, proposal, negotiation, justification, close. •You will develop, implement, and regularly enhance a competitive proposal and collaborate with appropriate team members on developing pricing strategies. •You will maintain a thorough knowledge of industry structure, trends, competitors and issues to ensure full ongoing and evolving understanding of why prospects/leads should select AMR. •You will be continually developing and expanding an understanding of client needs, and how the Company’s services help clients meet their business goals. •You will familiar with our necessary contractual language and assist with the negotiation of contracts as needed.
•Bachelor’s Degree in a business, marketing, or a business-related field •Advanced degree a strong plus •5-7 years management experience in sales or business development •10-15 years in sales or business development •A strong track record of achievement, consistently achieving sales and revenue goals •Proven ability to build and develop a business development team •3+ years experience in Pharma, Clinical Research Organizations, or a closely related field. Clinical research experience a big plus •Experience with private equity ownership is a plus •You are comfortable presenting and closing at the executive level, including leading the process from initial onsite visits with clients to closing the deal •Proven experience presenting and articulating solutions and value propositions through in-person meetings, online demos, and group presentations to prospects/customers •Adept at developing strategy and executing tactical plans •You are able to quickly adapt your approach to solving difficult problems •Proven success creating and executing a successful sales and marketing plan •Proven experience as a member of the senior team and have successfully interacted with all business functions at a high level. •Demonstrated sound business judgment, decision making skills, and a bottom line mentality •Exhibit candor, openness, and have a history of “walking the talk” on values; Ability to connect with teams across all levels of an organization. •Motivated by constant change and adapt quickly to capitalize on opportunities as they arise. •You thrive under pressure, and don’t get unnerved when the stakes are high •You have a proven knowledge and solid understanding of digital marketing tools and techniques •Solid experience with sales force automation management tools, as well as revenue cycle management technology
