The Security Guard is responsible for patrolling parking areas to detect any irregularities. Responds to emergency calls for assistance to control disorderly conduct or combative patients and demonstrates age specific responses in these situations. Responsible for inspecting outgoing parcels as necessary to prevent theft of hospital property. Reports all safety and fire hazards observed on routine patrols and inspections. Assists motorists who become stranded on hospital property.Investigates incidents of unusual circumstances reported by hospital personnel, visitors, physicians, patients, volunteers and reports all incidents, verbally or through general incident form, by the end of each shift.Â Utilizes age specific appropriate communication with all patient age groups for children, through adolescents, adults and geriatrics. Conducts security classes for new personnel and refresher security courses for current personnel.
