Position Summary Provide basic gynecological care, family planning advice and comprehensive obstetric care. Provide advice, care and support for women and their partners and families before, during and after childbirth.
Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination. Plans, implements and evaluates patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
Performs appropriate emergency interventions and manages complications.
Provides education/counseling to patient and patient's family with respect to pregnancy, childbirth, care of the newborn, contraception, family planning and basic gynecological care.
Provides care in the context of promoting age and culture-appropriate informed choices, shared decision-making and the right to self-determination.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and graduate of an accredited Nurse-Midwifery program.
One (1) to three (3) years of experience directly related to position and responsibilities preferred.
Certified Nurse Midwife required.
Must have a current, valid Wyoming Controlled Substance Registration and must be in good standing with the Board of Pharmacy.
Must have a current, valid DEA Registration, and must be in good standing with the DEA.
Must have current, valid Basic Life Support (BLS), or obtain within 60 days of hire and must maintain credential throughout employment with IMH.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Annual completion of yearly required CEUs.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Must have the ability to multitask.
