The RN/HOUSE SUPERVISOR is a key member of ourÂ Behavioral Hospital.Â The RN/ HOUSE SUPERVISOR organizes, directs and controls staffing schedules, daily assignments, acuity reports, compliance audits and safe/ efficient use of staff resources. Provide direct nursing care in conformance with accepted standards of nursing care practice. Provide guidance, training, and monitoring of staff performance and conduct. Review and/or complete incident reports, infection control reports, patient advocate reports, restraint/seclusion paperwork and review charts to ensure documentation compliance. Be willing to work on projects for quality improvement assigned by the CSU coordinator/ DON.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.Â Other duties may be assigned.
Organize, direct, and controls staffing schedules, daily assignments, acuity reports, and safe and efficient use of staff resources. Assign duties based on staff competency and resident acuity. Allocate resources appropriately.
Provide direct nursing care in conformance with accepted standards of nursing care practice. Provide guidance, training, and monitoring of staff performance and conduct.
Use clear and concise written and verbal communication skills. Complete routine and unexpected job assignments within agreed upon timeframe. Provide intercommunication between unit, department, and hospital staff.
Assist in the evaluation, monitoring, and development of quality patient care activity schedules. Encourage family involvement.Attend and participate in Nursing Leadership, Nursing, and other hospital meetings/committees as needed. Coordinate delivery of care with hospital departments.Â Actively participate in on-going development of quality treatment..
Participate in developing and maintaining unit, departmental, and hospital standards of excellence through problem solving, use of employee evaluations, disciplinary action, committee involvement, and self-directed growth and development. Work with Staff Development Coordinator in identifying needs and providing/scheduling educational opportunities. Participate in and support Performance Improvement initiatives.
Review and/or complete incident reports, Infection Control Reports, Patient Advocate Reports, Sentinel Events, and employees' Performance Appraisals to assess quality. Maintain patient rights and hospital policies. Review charts to ensure appropriate patient/family forms are signed. Provide and support educational offerings. Plan thorough, organized orientation of new staff. Ensure staff have necessary resources to provide quality care. Participate in policy and procedure development and review.
Effectively assume responsibility of DON in his/her absence. Willingly accepts additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Nursing.
