The Safety Manager Workers Compensation is responsible for the day to day design, implementation, and monitoring of UHS corporate loss prevention initiatives to reduce staff injury and work comp expenses for assigned facilities. Job responsibilities include, conducting assessments to identify hazards, evaluating and recommending solutions to prevent future injury, designing employee awareness/training programs. Monitor management of claim management vendors to ensure claim expenses are mitigated. Overall responsibility for up to $2M loss budget, 15 facilities and 3,000 employees. Has dotted line reporting to facility CEO; interfaces with facility senior management. Facility department heads and facility staff. Essential Job Duties: Hands on responsibility for assigned facility/facilities. Conduct assessment (gap analysis) of workersâ€™ compensation exposures; design and implement loss prevention, safety programs to prevent or reduce employee injury exposures and costs: establish program in compliance with UHS Loss Control program guidelines and expectations. Conduct comprehensive root cause analyses and monitor completion of corrective action plan. Communicates and provide timely trend analysis and defined action plans to address identified issues. Monitor claim management activities of TPA; makes recommendations to further mitigate claim expenses; monitors reserve adequacy for assigned facility claims. Manage work comp performance program for assigned facilities (costs allocated to facilities); timely and accurate management of performance program reports as well as Key Prevention Metrics.
