Located in Lexington, KY, the heart of the Bluegrass, The Ridge Behavioral Health System offers a healing environment that is reassuring to a patientsâ€™ sense of security and confidentiality. Dedicated to excellence, The Ridge Behavioral Health System is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, as a licensed, 110-bed hospital, providing psychiatric (mental health) and chemical dependency (drug & alcohol rehabilitation) services to children, adolescents and adults. Inpatient care is provided on a 24-hour basis, seven days a week. Outpatient and partial hospitalization services are provided on a six-day per week basis, days and evenings. The Business Development Representative must operate within the framework of a strategic marketing plan, must be able to target potential referral sources in his/her assigned territory, and have the ability to develop and sustain relationships with referral sources, patients and their families, and the community at large.Â Requires the ability to drive throughout the State of Kentucky (and adjoining states if necessary) and market the behavioral healthcare services provided by The Ridge BHS.Â Must be willing to spend up to 100% of his/her time on the road.Â Must be able to communicate accurately with all stakeholders â€" both internal and external.Â Must be able to maintain confidential patient information.Â Has the capability to conduct screenings in Nursing Homes/Assisted Living facilities when needed or scheduled and/or as directed by the Director of Business Development.

Makes set number of contacts based on market potential, distance, and productivity. Contact expectations: averaging 8 contacts per day.
Demonstrates skills in identifying and building a strategic marketing plan to target the most viable potential referral sources within particular target market(s); effectively incorporates relevant research findings (e.g. demographics, referral patterns) in identifying contacts.
Stays updated on program information regularly, asking appropriate questions and communicating interests or concerns of referral sources.
Demonstrates ability to communicate program changes and concepts to referral sources.
Utilizes strategic marketing plan as a tool in establishing calls and related sales activity for each month.
Uses effective time management techniques in implementing strategic marketing plan on a daily basis; organizes call and assessment activity logically, maximizing time available.
Anticipates changes or trends in target market and utilizes this information in developing and modifying marketing plan.
Provides useful procedural suggestions to supervisor regarding referral source communication, assessments, and marketing activities that result in effective referral development.
Utilizes administrative and clinical staff in making calls, including facilitating contact, probing for information, procuring commitments, verifying call viability, and following-up on contacts and referral grievances, assessment requests.
Incorporates COS techniques into selling and relationship development.
Joins and participates in local organizations that support efforts within particular target markets.
Is receptive and non-defensive toward feedback and training recommendations; follows-up and adjusts promptly to supervisorâ€™s training recommendations.
Possesses the knowledge of insurance concepts, major payers, current rates, and managed care issues affecting the hospital and client.
Utilizes a basic understanding of other departments and hospital processes that support the utilization of the continuum of care.
Responds openly and is supportive of changes in the facility and the department.
