Willow Springs Center has an immediate need for a Medical Director.
The position of Medical Directorâ€™s purpose is to plan, oversee, and direct the operations of the Medical Staff including budgeting, fiscal management, program operations, compliance, and strategic planning.Â This position collaborates with other members of Leadership to attain a level of clinical excellence as indicated in the Willow Springs Center mission.Â This position is part of a team tasked to lead and take ownership for every aspect of fiscal operation and service delivery.Â This position is an essential part of the guiding force of Willow Springs Center.

Performs psychiatric evaluations by reviewing data from referral sources and client records; interviewing family
Conducts psychiatric examination of client by interview to elicit subjective information
Observes the clientâ€™s mood, speech, perceptivity, thought process and intellectual functions
Evaluates the data acquired and decides whether a mental disorder is present and, if so, what is the most appropriate diagnosis of the disorder.
Conducts intake evaluations interviewing clients and obtains information regarding presenting problems.
Determines a level of social functioning using the Functional Level Scale
Formulates clinical impressions and evaluations of current problems including a diagnosis.
Recommends dispositions such as acceptance or rejection for treatment.Â Accepts admissions to the POU or Inpatient.
Decides the most appropriate recommendations for treatment and makes medication orders.
Adheres to Medical Bylaws.
Works collaboratively with Med Staff and Treatment Team to ensure the safety of patients, consumers and employees.
Works collaboratively with interdisciplinary groups to plan effective treatment programs and to provide group therapy.
Documents treatment plans and observations in the electronic medical record in accordance with all applicable policies, procedures and protocols.
Ensures all records are complete in accordance with all applicable policies, procedures and protocols.
Provides individual and family psychotherapy to clients by: identifying in behavior, thinking and relationships;
Formulates a problem list and develops, with the client and family, treatment plans and goals to resolve or modify the problems
Implements or teaches the client or family how to implement the treatment plan;
Checks the client for evidence of benefit or untoward effects when treatment modality is, in part, medication, and modifying the dosage of medication as indicated by observation and knowledge.
Prescribes psychotrophic medication when indicated and approved. Prescribes general medications when indicated for specific conditions
Oversees the overall medical evaluation and treatment of assigned clients by reviewing the physical findings and recommendations of the examining physician and implementing recommendations by writing treatment orders
Reviews the records of clients at least monthly to determine that they are receiving prescribed treatment and their response to treatment.
