ResponsibilitiesThis is an excellent opportunity to work under the direction of the Vice Chairman of Critical Care and Critical Care Unit, the Executive Assistant will provide administrative support for the Vice Chair and the group of Physicians that make up Surgical Critical Care. This position plays a key role in the department as they will assist with maintaining the individual faculty members, CMEs, CVs, and provide administrative support for endeavors related to education, research, and conferences. Other special project management as required by the Vice Chair of Critical Care and Directors of Cardiothoracic Anesthesia and Director of ICU.
QualificationsTyping skill to prepare business correspondence, reports and schedules with speed and accuracy. Skilled in writing grammatically correct/concise business correspondence, reports, maintaining CVs and writing out performance evaluations. Skilled in speaking on a one-to-one basis with persons of various cultural, economic backgrounds to obtain information and explain procedures, interpret instructions. Skilled in using various computer spreadsheet software programs to compile data and complete necessary reports. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with other staff members, subordinates, administrators and physicians. Skilled in working independently and following through on assignments with minimal supervision. Knowledge of University staff procedures and protocols including bargaining unit standards. Skilled in making appropriate job decisions following UCLA standard policies/procedures, past precedents and common sense. Ability to perform effectively under conditions of fluctuating workload and with frequent interruptions and distractions. Skilled in organizing material, information and people in a systematic way to optimize efficiency and minimize duplication of effort.
