Edenwald is a not-for-profit entity governed by The General German Aged People’s Home of Baltimore, Inc., located in Towson, Maryland. The organization has a history of caring that goes back more than a century. Edenwald provides senior care residences and services to over 600 seniors each year as a part of its full care continuum that includes independent living, assisted living, memory care, and short and long- term skilled nursing care.
Accountable to the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for organizing and directing the ongoing business of the organization within the policies and general directives of the Board. (S)he develops cooperative relationships with external organizations to exchange information and services with the aim of improving the lives of all residents. The CEO is primarily responsible for developing, together with the Board, the organization’s new strategic plan, operations, fiscal accountability, marketing/public relations, human resources, compliance, growth, philanthropy and any other duty which fosters the well-being of residents/clients, families, staff, and volunteers associated with the organization. Responsible for all components of this quality-driven aging services provider, the CEO will possess both the leadership qualities and management skills necessary to uphold the organization’s ongoing success at providing the highest quality of care and services.
The CEO shall serve as chief liaison between Edenwald and its affiliates, community and governmental agencies, and through her/his outstanding communication style, will excel at promoting positive and mutually rewarding relationships with partner organizations and all those Edenwald serves. (S)he is responsible for carrying out the mission of Edenwald by providing leadership and overall administration. In addition to assuring the effective day-to-day operations of the organization, the CEO will focus on developing, together with the Board and leadership team, a long-range course of action and set of goals to ensure successful realization of the organization's vision. These clearly articulated goals will align the organization's vision and ensure synergies between people, processes, and strategies to drive execution of mission objectives. An additional area of focus includes developing and mentoring a high-performing, collaborative team. A Bachelor’s degree in business administration, health care administration, or related field is required (Master’s degree preferred).
