The Director of Education is responsible for the initial education, training and competency assessment of new hires. In coordination with hospital leaders the position is responsible for the ongoing continuing education necessary to maintain required competencies for all disciplines.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1.Â Serves as nursing orientation facilitator for new employees.
2.Â Designs and coordinates a structured preceptor program for new graduates.
3.Â Maintains, in coordination with Human Resources, a database on continuing education, certifications,Â Â Â Â licensures, registrations and other regulatory requirements.
4.Â Develops and maintains the hospital competency program.
5.Â Coordinates orientation for students in nursing and allied health programs.
