The Activity Therapist is responsibleÂ the development and implementation of a comprehensive recreation therapy program designed to meet the physical, social, cultural and recreational needs of patients in our Residential Treatment Facility at Brentwood Behavioral Health Care.
Participates in Treatment Team meetings and provides written goals and interventions to the treatment plan.Â Implements changes to the treatment plan according to patient progress.Â Contributes to discharge planning.
Evaluates each patientâ€™s physical and cognitive abilities, social and emotional behaviors and leisure needs.Â
Completes the Activity Therapy assessment within appropriate time frame according to policy.

Must be able to twist, turn and reach above and below the waist.
May be required to lift up to 30 lbs. Unassisted.
Must be willing to travel, including occasional overnight travel, in work capacity.
Near visual acuity is required for accurate reading of forms, reports, and the patientâ€™s medical record.
Ability to hear sound with or without correction.
Must be able to stoop, kneel, and bend daily.This may be done as many as 20 times daily, or more often.
May be required to accompany patients to outside facilities for appointments, consultations or activities.
May be required to drive hospital vehicle to facilitate patient consultations.
Communication is necessary to discuss and confer with staff and physicians on patient conditions.
Must be able to use both hands in fine and gross manipulation of small tools, including but not limited to pen/pencil, copier, and telephone.
Must be able to spend 25% of working time outside in temperatures varying from 25 degreesFahrenheit to above 110 degrees Fahrenheit.
Yearly onsite education in non-violent crisis intervention and current CPR certification required.
