Business Development Representative
The Business Development Representative represents Highlands Behavioral Health System in developing business relationships with individual referral sources and private and public agencies (hospitals, schools, community mental health centers, government social and mental health programs, private mental health and social service organizations, etc.) for the purpose of providing on-going customer service and increasing referrals. The Business Development Representative provides Sales, Marketing, Community Support, and Customer Service activities within the Business Development Department. The BDR participates in referral source identification, assessing the needs of the customer and making the required number of marketing contacts to each account, in order to develop and maintain a long-term referral relationship which will generate a continuous flow of admissions to meet hospital census objectives.Â Looking for a self-starter with ability to work independently and with excellent time management skills. Background in behavioral health or therapy services is plus, but not required.
Effectively plan and manage weekly schedules for contacting referral sources and agencies
He/she plans events, provides tours, performs referral source in-services, acts as a liaison between the Referral Source and the hospital, and seeks out new business development opportunities for the hospital; works in general office environment and hospital units/programs.
Account management and regular maintenance is required through a corporate database, as well as attendance to weekly business development meetings to include ongoing territory/admission goals, associated activity, and updates.Â
Frequent travel to various agencies and facilities within and outside of the community.
Must be able to work evenings and weekends.
Collaborate with team members to support departmental goals and marketing plans
Assist in developing quarterly marketing plans, track progress and analyze results
Utilize UHS computer systems to track key indicators that determine effectiveness of referral development efforts
Effectively communicate recommendations and findings to team members
Demonstrate initiative in promoting service excellence and continuous quality improvement
Assist clinical staff and hospital leaders to implement service recovery strategies
Plan and execute educational seminars and other marketing events
Remain current with market trends and competitor programs
Identify and report new business development and marketing opportunities
Perform other job related activities as assigned by the Director of Business Development
