The Pride Institute is the nationâ€™s first and leading provider of residential and outpatient treatment programs exclusively treating substance abuse and mental health needs of the LGBTQ+ community. With a Residential program in Eden Prairie, MN that provides integrated treatment services for adults with chemical dependency, sexual compulsivity, and co-occurring disorders, and Intensive Out-Patient (IOP) programs in the Uptown area of Minneapolis and soon in Rochester, we have been providing our clients a comfortable, safe alternative to traditional treatment programs for over 30 years.
We are seeking a part-time (flexible 20 weekday hours per week) Health Information Management (HIM) Assistant to ensure that all security measures are maintained for client medical records, confirming that data access is limited and safeguarded from potential loss, destruction or disclosure.Â Specific duties include maintenance of all open and closed medical records; facility records; internal chart audits; releases of information; and transcription of charts.Â This position requires knowledge of standards of medical records maintenance to ensure compliance with all state and federal laws, rules/regulations of licensing agencies, and within CARF standards for quality client care.
Located at our Eden Prairie Residential facility, the HIM Assistant will:
Effectively assist clients, staff, referral sources and requesting entities with medical record requests
Answer and direct phone calls
Distribute incoming mail
Copy charts for outside agencies
Process requests for Releases of Information (ROI)
Observe all confidentiality regulations
Serve as Electronic Medical Records administrator, setting up all staff with system access information and terminating access as needed, and troubleshooting issues
Create new Requestor Accounts for individuals or facilities retrieving system information
Coordinate off-site storage activities
Pull records as requested by staff
Provide assistance to Utilization Review and Community Relations areas as requested
Exhibit excellent customer relations skills as evidenced by supportive and constructive communication with all contacts, including clients and their families, staff, visitors, and referral sources
