Job Summary: The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting the Infusion Nurse by performing a variety of clinical and administrative tasks.
Essential Duties and Functions:
Performs all duties and responsibilities in a manner that promotes high-quality patient care and customer service
Obtain and record patient vital signs including but not limited to blood pressure, temperature, weight, height, etc.
Fulfills clerical responsibilities such as scheduling patient appointments, scanning, and recording medical documents, greeting patients, etc.
Maintain a neat and orderly infusion suite and ensure supplies are stocked appropriately
Performs other duties as assigned by the infusion nurse and/or physician
Current and valid certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) highly preferred
Neurology and prior authorization experience a plus
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong computer skills including familiarity with EMR systems
Must have basic medical knowledge, including medical terminology, and clinical skills
Flexible and adaptable team player
