Assists physicians with direct patient care. Prepares patients and assists physician with minor surgical procedures. Takes vitals, blood pressure, pulse, and temperature. Maintains inventory of supplies, sterilizes instruments and equipment. May complete lab tests and/or x-rays with the scope of CMA credentials.
Current Clinical Medical Assistant Certification by an approved accredited agency.
Completion of approved Clinical Medical Assistant Program.
0-12 months experience, Specific specialty experience may be required for some practices.
1+ years as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant in a clinic setting preferred
Oral and injectable medication administration.
Phlebotomy skills and or specific specialty experience required for specialty preferred.
Basic computer skills.
Basic medical equipment and instrumentation.
Good written and verbal communication skills. Good interpersonal skills. Knowledge of common safety hazards and procedures. Good medical assistant skills.
